Tuesday, December 2, was the perfect night to eat chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and coconut cream pie and celebrate the success of Lucy's on the Square, in Celina. And it seemed as if the whole town showed up--the mayor and members of the city council, representatives from the chamber of commerce and the Main Street Program, and anyone craving a great, home-cooked meal. Lucy's is family owned and operated by Steve and Krys Murray and their daughters Britney Murray, Kinley Libbert, Macy Schlichting, and Haven Smith. "Krys is the reason we're here," said Steve. "She had all of these amazing recipes, and no one can bake the way she can." In fact, all of the handmade pies were spectacular, but what really stole the show was the Frozen Lucy, a towering ice cream dessert that left everyone wanting more.
